Al-Sadd football first team trained on Wednesday with the session witnessing the return of Spanish midfielder Xavi Hernandez who rejoined group training following his recovery from an injury. He had picked up the injury during the match against El Jaish in QSL Round 13. Xavi had been away from action for the two matches against Mesaimeer and Umm Salal during his recovery period.
The Wednesday session also saw the participation of goalkeeper Saad al-Dosari, who has also recovered from an injury that kept him out of the Umm Salal match. Saad had been recuperating during the last few days until he recovered completely and was deemed fit to train with the team.
Meanwhile, the first team began their session at 5:30 PM on Wednesday at the secondary pitch after getting two days off as rest. The team is now preparing for the Qatar Super Cup which is set to be played on the 21st of January at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium of Al-Ahli Club.
Al-Taawon friendly set for 4:15 PM
Al-Sadd will face Saudi team Al-Taawon in a friendly which will kick off at 4:15 PM on Friday, the 15th of January. It will be played at the secondary pitch.
Lee continues to recuperate, begins light running
Al-Sadd defender Lee Jung Soo continued to recuperate after injuring his back muscles and missing the Umm Salal match. He began light running exercises under the supervision of the medical staff of the club.
