Xavi presents Ancelotti with ‘Inspiring Leader’ award

Former Barcelona and current Al-Sadd star Xavi Hernandez presented Carlo Ancelotti, who was until recently the Real Madrid manager, with the Inspiring Leader award during the Leaders Award ceremony in London. The ceremony took place at the Natural History Museum in the British capital and was attended by a number of former footballers, including Gaizka Mendieta and Clarence Seedorf.
Xavi handed over the award in the name of Aspire Academy and Qatari football. Speaking after receiving the award, Ancelotti said: “I am really happy and grateful to Aspire to be able to receive this award from Xavi, who is one of the greats of football.” He also added that Xavi always presented an exemplary attitude on the pitch, in addition to top performances.
Xavi also had a few words of his own, saying: “It is a great honour for me to give this awatd to a personality like Anceotti who is considered an example in all the places he has been in,” and adding that “he is a coach who has won titles in all the leagues he hs been to, but as always he has been a model to follow, respectful of everyone – the players, the opponents and the referees, regardless of a win or a loss.”
Other attendees at the ceremony included Tareq Abdulaziz al-Naama, Head of Aspire Zone Foundation and Ivan Bravo, General Manager of Aspire.
