Spanish star and Al-Sadd midfielder Xavi Hernandez was named by Qatar Stars League as the best player of the month of September 2015, after shining in the opening three games of the season. Al-Sadd garnered seven points from those three matches, with wins against Mesaimeer and Al-Wakrah and a draw with Umm Salal.
QSL officials presented Xavi with the award on Wednesday evening after the Prozone analysis system showed his excellent stats. The monthly award is considered as a motivational prize for the players to perform even better during the QSL.
In the three matches that Al-Sadd have played in the month of September, Xavi played a total of 289.8 minutes, scoring one goal from among the 10 scored by the team, while also registering 3 assists.
Xavi was chosen for the accolade after an analysis of his performance using the Prozone stats. They show that Xavi has done very well, both in the technical and the physical aspects of his game. He made an average of 105.3 successful passes out of 113.3, penetrating into the box 20.7 times while also making 6.7 interceptions.
