Turkish ambassador: We thank our brothers in Qatar for the hospitality

H.E. Fikret Ozer, the Turkish ambassador to Qatar, attended Sunday night’s friendly game between Al-Sadd and Trabzonspor, going on to express his happiness with the Turkish team’s visit and the welcome they received in Qatar.

Speaking to the media at the sidelines of the match, Mr. Ozer said: “As you know, HH the Emir of Qatar visited Trabzon and today Trabzonspor are in Doha, showing their appreciation. Also, Qatar National Bank are the sponsor of Trabzonspor and there are great relations between the team and the clubs in Qatar. Trabzonspor are one of the biggest teams in Turkey. These kinds of matches help strengthen the relations between the people of the two countries.”

He added: “We hope more Turkish teams come to Qatar to play matches like these and hold training camps. There is a great partnership and cooperation between the two countries in the sporting field and hopefully, we can see the fruit of that in the future.”

The ambassador concluded by saying: “We thank our brothers in Qatar for the great hospitality and we wish all the clubs here the very best.”
