Successful cartilage surgery for Salem Al-Hajri
Al-Sadd midfielder Salem Al-Hajri underwent successful cartilage surgery at the Aspetar Hospital on Tuesday morning. He will now be out of action for a period of 4-6 weeks as he recuperates in order to return to the pitch for training.
Salem had earlier felt pain in his knee after the Round 20 game against Al-Wakrah and once a medical examination was carried out, it became clear that he would miss out on playing for Al-Saddd in the coming weeks.
The young midfielder is in Room 321 at the Aspetar Hostpital, where he was operated upon by French surgeon Philippe.

Meanwhile, Salem spoke of his sadness at being injured, saying: “This is how football is. All the players suffer injuries. Praise be to God. I hope I return quickly after the recuperation phase in order to complete the campaign with the Wolves.
He also added: “I suffered pain in my knee at the end of the match against Al-Wakrah and after the end of the medical test, it was confirmed that I was ruled out of action for 4-6 weeks.”
Salem also spoke of his huge confidence in his ability to return strongly after the end of the recuperation and physiotherapy phase. “I will return to the team stronger. The team will do well this season, while competing hard for the QSL title.”
