Ferreira: The result was fair, we didn’t give enough to deserve a win

​Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has spoken of his dissatisfaction with the performance of his team after the 1-1 draw with Al-Gharafa in the QSL Round 21 game played on Monday.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said that his team did not do enough to deserve three points. “We did not perform well and we did not give enough to deserve a win, despite everyone knowing the importance of the match and the importance of winning in order to get closer to second spot,” said the Portuguese, while pointing out that the result was fair considering the way the match was played.

The Al-Sadd coach also went out to say: “The pressure on the players influenced the performance and winning over Al-Arabi and Al-Khor added to that. The errors which were commmited heped Gharafa to score the equalizer, just like all the goals we concede normally.”

Ferreira concluded by saying: “Al-Gharafa defended strongly and we faced difficulty in cutting through their midfield lines; their attacking trio also put a lot of pressure on us. I assure you that Al-Sadd will continue to work again in order to get back to winning ways.”
