Qatar Cup 2020: Al-Sadd defeat Al-Duhail 4-0 to lift the title
Al-Sadd won the Qatar Cup 2020 title after a 4-0 win over Al-Duhail in the final which was played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday evening.
The victory gave Al-Sadd their second title in the competition after the 2017 edition, and the 71st overall title in the history of the club.
Nam Tae-hee put Al-Sadd ahead in the 5th minute, heading in past Amine Lecomte after Pedro’s cross from the right.
In the 21st minute, Al-Sadd doubled their lead with a bit of good fortune. Lecomte failed to clear the ball properly and it was directed back to the goal by the oncoming Baghdad Bounedjah.
Bounedjah then made it 3-0 in the third minute of first half added time, dribbling into the box from the left and then cutting on to his right foot to get past Mohammed Musa, before finishing past Lecomte with a superb curled finish.
Al-Sadd fourth and final goal came in the 72nd minute, through Akram Afif’s penalty, after he was brought down in the box by Mohammed Musa.
