HE Nasser Mubarak al-Ali, Vice President of Al-Sadd offered a full apology to the fans of the club after the football team drew 0-0 with Al-Khor in their last league match, losing two more points in the title race. He pointed out that the team and the players are not to blame, especially with the good performance throughout the match. It was only bad luck that prevented the team from winning and getting the three points.
The Vice President added that Al-Sadd put in great effort during the two matches against Umm Salal and Al-Khor that ended in draws. He said that some things did not go in their favouracc and the team was very unlucky in front of goal.
In a statment to the club website, HE Nasser al-Ali said that he does not fear for the team. “Al-Sadd need no worries, its condition is always stable. The players have a great deal of responsibility to perform better and return to winning ways again. ” He pointed out that the upcoming match against Al-Arabi was a derby of great history. “Everyone will be waiting to watch the rivalry and the excitement of the match, along with the great attendances.”
HE Al-Ali, who is also a club co-founder, also stressed on the importance of fan support in the upcoming match and all the remaining matches until the end of the league. He said: “Al-Sadd is in great need of its fans, who are considered the first and last support for the team in its campaign and I hope they support the team very strongly in the derby.”
The Vice President also spoke of his great respect and appreciation for the Al-Sadd fans, especially as they have a responsibility towards the team just as the coaches or the management does. He said: “Al-Sadd fans are fully responsible for the team and have the full rights to inquire and offer opinions and ideas. We at Al-Sadd Club appreciate this and we will have meetings with the fans to listen to all their opinions. This has already happened before.” Al-Ali also said that he hopes the interaction of the fans continues and that they attend training sessions and matches in order to support the team regularly.
