Al-Sadd goalkeeper Muhannad Naim, was of the opinion that the upcoming Qatar Stars League Round 7 match against Al-Arabi will be important and difficult.
Speaking to the club website, Muhannad said: “Al-Sadd v Al-Arabi is a popular tie and will attract a lot of fans; this is what we expect from Al-Sadd fans. We hope they will be the prime supporter of the team in the upcoming match, in which Al-Sadd needs to get another three points in the title race.”
The goalkeeper went on to add: “We play every match with full strength, always wanting to win but in the last match against Al-Khor, we were not lucky. We missed a lot of chances in front of goal, that could have given us a huge win. I am sure the Wolves are looking to make amends for what happened with a good performance against Al-Arabi in the derby.”
As for his participation with the Al-Sadd team, Muhannad said: “I am happy to be able to play and I hope I can make the opprtunity count by putting up good performances and showing everyone my level.”
Saad al-Dosari has been absent from the team with injury for some time now and Muhannad had this to say about him: “Saad is like my elder brother and is a huge strength for the team. I hope he returns quickly, especially as the competition between us will be an advantage for the team.”
Muhannad also talked of the difficulty of the current season, saying that it was the toughest he had experienced in recent times with more than 6 teams fighting for the title. With Al-Rayyan returning strongly alongside its great fans, Muhannad hopes that Al-Sadd fans will also be on hand to support their team in every match.
The Al-Sadd custodian concluded his talk by saying: “The title race is fierce and we will work very hard to get the three points and get closer to the top of the table, in the face of heated competition from teams who have all prepared well for this season.”
