Brazilian striker Muriqui spoke of the difficulty of the upcoming match against Al-Ahli in Round 4 of the Qatar Stars League on Thursday. He said that Al-Sadd was looking to win every match especially as there is strong competition for the title.
Speaking exclusively to the club website, Muriqui said: “It will be a difficult match against an excellent team which always gives its best when facing Al-Sadd. And so we need to work hard to perform with our best during the match in order to continue with our winning ways, and go on to reach the top.”
As for his current form, the striker said: “I am currently in fine form; I am happy to have scored five goals in three matches with the team. I seek to continue giving my best to help the team to victories.” He pointed out that the current season is a personal challenge for him, in contrast to the previous season, during which he missed many matches due to injury.
Muriqui further said that the team was proceeding with the right steps and that they have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders to keep on winning. The match against Umm Salal was not the right measure of the team; the team was not fortunate that night.
He concluded his talk saying: “I am happy with my performance for the team and also for the victories of the team. I hope I remain in the good books of the coaching staff, the management and my teammates in every match.”
