​Mohammed Ghanem al-Ali, head of football at Al-Sadd, has reiterated the importance of the preparatory phase for the 2015/16 season, which kicked off earlier this week. He also expressed his happiness with the fact that a full-strength team is available for preseason training.
Al-Ali told the official website that the preparatory phase was needed to measure the strength of the team before it begins fighting for titles on multiple fronts. He advised the team to take full benefit of the phase in terms of both technical and physical readiness.
He further stated that Al-Sadd had the best of the talent in Qatar, be it a native player or one of the four foreigners, the latest of which is Spanish star Xavi Hernandez. He added that Xavi would join the team during its training camp in Austria which will take place between July 25 and August 9.
As for the news regarding the contract extension of Al-Mahdi Ali, the head of football said that Al-Mahdi was one of our own products and among the best Qatari defenders. He added that the club would not go against the player with regards to his contract and that an extension will be signed shortly.
