The Qatar national team players returned to Al-Sadd for training on Thursday as the team prepares for the upcoming QSL Round 9 match against Al-Kharaitiyat which will be played on Sunday evening at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Hassan al-Haydos, Abdulkareem Hassan, Ali Asad and Ibrahim Majed all returned to their club after their involvement with the national team during the friendly against Turkey and the World Cup/Asian Cup qualifier against Bhutan.
Al-Sadd is currently at third place in the league standings after the end of eight rounds of matches with 18 points. The team has won 5 matches, drawn 3 and lost none. Al-Rayyan are on top of the table with 24 points while El-Jaish follow with 19 points.
The team intensified its preparations for the Kharaitiyat clash with the coaching staff working on tactics and strategies. There was a focus on aerial balls from deep and from the wings, in addition to dealing with with them both offensively and defensively.
Injury rules out Saleh Bader from the match
Attacker Saleh Bader will miss the Kharaitiyat match after sustaining an injury during the national Olympic team camp. He is currently undergoing a recuperation programme under the supervision of the medical team at the club in order to make a quick recovery.
