Mohammed Ghanem al-Ali, Head of Football at Al-Sadd has expressed his delight with the 2-1 win that the team achieved over Al-Rayyan in the QSL Round 12 match played on Thursday.
Speaking after the match, al-Ali said: “Al-Sadd was never out of the race to be returning to it with this win. The league is still in its first phase and everything is possible in football. Al-Sadd will focus on every match and we will strive to continue winning in the coming matches.”
The Head of Football added: “Despite the points difference in favour of Al-Rayyan, the league is still on the pitch to play for. It is true that Al-Rayyan are a big team and are favourites to win the title but Al-Sadd also has big ambitions and will seek to turn them into reality.”
Al-Ali then went on to express his gratitude to the players for their performance in the match which showed the original Al-Sadd, saying: “Thanks also to the coaching staff led by Jesualdo Ferreira who were able to put up a strong performance by using the players in the suitable manner that gave the team the win.”
He also pointed out that the match was difficult in the beginning and that the excitement was there just as it has always been in the matches between the two teams. Both are always considered among the favourites for the league title, and each team came into this match with the desire to win and that is what made this game turn out in this manner.
The Al-Sadd Head of Football concluded his words by saying: “The main goal that we are striving for is to make our fans happy; they deserve to see their team in its best condition and Praises be to God we were able to put smiles on their faces. We hope we can continue with positive results in the upcoming matches.”
