Khoukhi Boualem: Move to Al-Sadd means a lot for me

Al-Sadd’s new signing Khoukhi Boualem spoke to the club website in an interview from the preseason camp in Austria, expressing his happiness in joining the Wolves.

“I am happy to be with Al-Sadd. The move means a lot for me, especially as Al-Sadd is one of the biggest clubs in Qatar. Every player would hope to wear its jersey. I hope I can fulfill the expectations and impress the coaches,” said Khoukhi.

Khoukhi also spoke about the ongoing preseason phase, saying: “For me, the preseason has been great. Despite the difficulty and intensity of the training, we must give our 100% in order to be fully prepared. Al-Sadd have to play in many tournaments next season.”

The Qatar international went out to state how delighted he was to be amongst the stars of Al-Sadd, especially Xavi. “Any player would wish to play alongside a big player like Xavi, who was won many titles at the world level, including the World Cup, in addition to two titles with Al-Sadd last season.”

As for the competition in the upcoming season, Khoukhi said: “The race for the titles next season will be intense between all the teams, who have strengthened their ranks with excellent foreign and native players. Al-Sadd are going to be a tough opponent for all the teams.”

The player also expressed his gratitude to all the fans of his former club Al-Arabi, telling them: “I thank the Al-Arabi fans who embraced me. I respect them a lot. I also wish to thank the players who I played with for the last 8 years. I wish them good luck for the new season.”

Khoukhi concluded by saying: “I know that the Al-Sadd fans love titles and championships. I promise them that I will work hard to achieve what they want.”
