Khalfan named as one of 500 most important players on the planet

​World Soccer magazine published their list of the 500 most important players on the planet for the 2015/16 season, which included the name of Al-Sadd and Qatar national team midfielder Khalfan Ibrahim for the second straight season.

The list also had Al-Ahli Dubai striker Ahmed Khalil and Al-Ain midfielder Omar Abdulrahman from the UAE and Sunderland midfielder Wahbi Khazri, Valencia centre back Aymen Abdennour and Al-Gharafa striker Yacine Chikhaoui from Tunisia.

There were spots for Algerian stars Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City, Yacine Brahimi of Porto, Islam Slimani of Sporting Lisbon and Sofiane Feghouli of Valencia.

Other Arab players on the list included Mohammed Salah (Egypt and Roma), Mohammed El Neny (Egypt and Arsenal), Ashraf Numan (Palestine and Hajer), Abdelaziz Barrada (Morocco and Marseille) and Dhurgham Ismail (Iraq and Rizespor).
