Al-Sadd football first team stepped up preparations for their opening match of the Qatari Stars League 2015/16, in which they face Mesaimeer. The match will be at 6 PM on Sunday night at the Grand Hamad Stadium.
The training session on Thursday saw the participation of all the stars of the team, including the Qatar national team players who returned to the club after the end of their international duty – Saad al-Sheeb, Abdul Karim Hassan and Mohammed Kasola, Ali Asad and Hassan Al Haidos, in addition to the Olympic team trio – Muhannad Naim and Saleh Badr and Musab Khodr. The senior Annabi played two qualifying games against Bhutan and Hong Kong, while the Olympic team held a preparatory camp in Manchester played two friendlies.
The coaching staff, led by Moroccan Hussein Amouta focused on ball and footwork exercises which varied between offensive and defensive, before moving on to practicing shooting on goal from deep and from the wings.
· Light training session for internationals
The international players had a light practice session during training on Thursday under the supervision of assistant coach Hisham Zahid, as they have just returned after the games with the first and Olympic national teams.
· Khalfan, Muriqui and Ibra impress
The trio of Muriqui, Khalfan Ibrahim and Ibrahim Majid continued to train with the first team and were very impressive with their efforts.
· Ideal atmosphere at training
The first team training session saw a perfect atmosphere coupled with high levels of morale for all players especially after the return of international players ahead of the Qatar Stars League kickoff.
