International players return to Al-Sadd squad
Al-Sadd’s international players returned to the squad for training on Thursday ahead of the AFC Champions League quarter-final second leg against Esteghlal FC.
Eight Al-Sadd players were involved with the Qatar national team: Hassan Al-Haydos, Khoukhi Boualem, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Tarek Salman, Abdelkarim Hassan, Salem Al-Hajri, Akram Afif.
Also, Baghdad Bounedjah and Jung Woo-young returned to the squad following their participation with their respective national teams. Bounedjah played for Algeria in the 2019 AFCON qualifier with Gambia while Jung appeared for Korea Republic in the games against Costa Rica and Chile.
The players were in high spirits as they trained on Thursday, as they prepared for the second leg clash. The coaching staff focused on physical aspects before moving on to technical skills.
Meanwhile, Al-Sadd star Hassan Al-Haydos was honoured by the team management, coaching staff and players, after he reached his 100th cap with the Qatar national team.
