Ibrahim Majid: Disappointed to be ruled out, I will begin physiotherapy soon
Al-Sadd defender Ibrahim Majid spoke of his disappointment after being ruled out of action ahead of the start of the 2017/18 season, due to an ACL injury.
Ibrahim got injured during a preseason friendly against Muaither and a medical test showed that he had suffered an ACL tear in his left foot.
Speaking to the club website after a successful surgery on Sunday, Ibrahim said: “To be honest, I feel sad to be out of the team at the start of the season. I was hoping to be there but this injury has ruled me out. I praise Allah in any case and I hope all the players will be at their best in the Super Cup match against Al-Duhail, to win the first title of the season.”
The defender added: “I will begin physiotherapy and rehabilitation soon, in order to return to the team strongly, especially as Al-Sadd face a lot of tough challenges this season both at home and abroad.”
Ibrahim also expressed his confidence in the ability of his teammates to make up for his absence. “I trust my teammates, especially the youngsters, to compensate for my absence and to give their best in all the tournaments. Al-Sadd always brings out good players who will have a say in the club’s future.”
Earlier, representatives of the club management visited Ibrahim in his room at the Aspetar hospital. Team manager Abdullah Al-Breik, first team officer Mohammed Saeed Al-Hassan and U23 team manager Abdulaziz Al-Jaidi visited the player after the surgery in order to show their support.
