Hassan Al-Haydos: Important victory as we were missing players

Al-Sadd attacker Hassan Al-Haydos called the 2-1 win over Al-Ahli in Round 2 of the QSL as “really important for the team.”

Speaking after the match, Al-Haydos said: “We were in need of this win to continue our league campaign in the required manner. The truth is that the win was really important as it came against a strong team like Al-Ahli and also despite missing many prominent players like Khalfan Ibrahim and Ibrahim Majid. And so, coming away with three points is a very good thing for us.”

He also went on to add: “The match was not easy becayse they played strongly. Our lead helped us force our domination on play but Al-Ahli made attacking substitutions to make up for the deficit and managed to do that. They depended on long balls but we dealt with them in the required way.”

Al-Haydos also commended the efforts of the back four, saying: “Pedro played in the left back position and delivered a good performance. He succeeded in stopping Mubele, Al-Ahli’s most dangerous player. What the team gave as a whole was also very good in this difficult match.”
