First team returns to training to prepare for Lekhwiya
Al-Sadd football first team returned to training at 5:45 PM on Monday, after the end of a three-day break which was given to the players
The Wolves are currently undergoing preparations for the upcoming Qatar Stars League Round 3 game against Lekhwiya on October 16, looking to achieve the third straight win in the league.
Al-Sadd are joint leaders at the top of the league standings, alongside Lekhwiya and El-Jaish with 6 points from two games.
Monday’s training session was held without 15 players who are away on national duty. 8 players are with the senior Qatar national team for the World Cup qualifier against Syria (Saad Al-Dosari, Mohammed Kasola, Abdelkarim Hassan, Pedro, Ibrahim Majid, Musab Kheder, Ali Asad, Hassan Al-Haydos) while 6 others are with the Olympic team (Hatem Kamal, Hossam Kamal, Salem Al-Hajri, Abdulaziz Al-Khalosi, Meshaal Al-Shammari and Ayoob Mashhoor). Morteza Pouraliganji is also away with the Iranian national team for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against South Korea.
Physical and tactical training
The coaches, led by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira, focused on phsyical training after the return of the players following the break. The players also went through technical drills that aimed at improving their physical endurance.
In the second half of the session, the players underwent tactical training with drills that included shooting at goals and dealing with crosses.
Tuesday session to begin at 4 PM
The Wolves are now scheduled to train on Tuesday from 4 PM at the training pitch, in order to allow the team members to watch the match between Qatar and Syria in the World Cup qualifiers.
