The Al-Sadd football team resumed training at 5:30 PM on Wednesday at the club secondary pitch following a two-day period of rest given to them after the 1-1 draw with Umm Salal in Round 15 of the Qatar Stars League (QSL).
The QSL is currently on a break that will last until the 27th of thus month. Al-Sadd is set to play Lekhwiya in the Qatar Super Cup which will be held on 21st January at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium of Al-Ahli Club.
Led by head coach Jesualdo Ferreira, the coaching staff put in place the physical conditioning & training regimen, especially as the players are returning from a period of rest. The staff are looking to prepare the players for the upcoming period, which will be crucial in order to start the second half of the season well.
The Wednesday session saw all the available players participate in a meeting which took place before the start of training. The coordination meeting was between the head coach and the players, in order to talk about the importance of the upcoming period and that of working hard to execute the training programme well before taking up the difficult challenges, both at home and in Asia.
Those that took part in the first team training were: Abdulrahman Nasser, Meshaal al-Shammari, Hamad Mansour, Gaser Yahya, Nasser Ibrahim, Ali Faydh, Muriqui, Nadir Belhadj, Ayoob Mashhoor, Saleh Bader, Steven Tedga, Musa Mohammed, Talal al-Baloushi, Hassan al-Haydos, Khalfan Ibrahim, Ibrahim Majid, Hamza al-Sanhaji, Mohammed Kasola.
Four players are away with the Qatar national Olympic team and they are: Muhannad Naim, Musab Khodr, Ali Asad and Abdulkarim Hassan. They will participate in the upcoming Asian U23 Championship which will be played in Qatar this month.
Meanwhile, Xavi Hernandez, Lee Jung Soo and Saad al-Dosari are recuperating at the medical clinic of the club in order to return to training in the upcoming period.
