First team resumes training to prepare for Al-Markhiya
The Al-Sadd football first team resumed training on Monay at the club’s training facility, after a two-day rest that followed the team’s 2-1 win over Al-Gharafa in Round 3 of the QNB Stars League.
The team will now prepare for the upcoming 2017 QSL Cup opening fixture against Al-Markhiya, which will kick off at 5:45 PM on Wednesday at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
The tournament draw had placed Al-Sadd in Group B alongside Al-Markhiya, Al-Rayyan, Al-Ahli, Umm Salal and Al-Arabi. On the other side, Group A consists of Al-Duhail, Al-Gharafa, Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Sailiya, Al-Khir and Qatar SC.
During Monday’s session, the coaching staff ensured that the players who played in the last match underwent proper recovery training. As for the rest of the players, they went through physical training and technical drills with the ball.
The training session was held in the absence of 8 Al-Sadd players, who have been called up to the combined Qatar senior and Olympic national team squad. The players are: Hassan Al-Haydos, Salem Al-Hajri, Boualem Khoukhi, Pedro Miguel, Ali Asad, Fahad Shanin, Meshaal Essa, Musab Kheder.
