FIFA Club World Cup draw held in Zurich
The draw for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup was held today at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Seven teams are set to take part in the tournament: Al-Sadd (hosts), Hienghene Sport (OFC), Liverpool (Europe), Monterrey (North & Central America), Esperance (Africa), 2019 AFC Champions League winner and 2019 Copa Libertadores winner.
Al-Sadd will play Hienghene Sport in their opening game on December 11. The winner from this game will play Monterrey in the quarterfinal, with a semifinal against Liverpool up for grabs. On the other side of the draw, Esperance will face the Asian champions in the quarterfinal and the winner from that tie will qualify for a semifinal clash with the Copa Libertadores champions from South America.
