Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of the Qatar Stars League Round 16 match against Al-Wakrah and labelled the game as “difficult”. The match is set to kick off at 7 PM on Thursday at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al-Wakrah Club.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “We are returning after a long break in which we lost the rhythm of performance and this will increase the difficulty of the match against Al-Wakrah, who are one of the mid-table teams. But we respect them a lot for their great performance which they have shown over the past few rounds before the break.”
The Al-Sadd coach added: “We studied Al-Wakrah well and we will fight to get the win in order to improve our position in the league table as we are now going to face some difficult matches in the upcoming period both in the QSL and also against Al-Jazira in the AFC Champions League qualifying round. The Al-Wakrah game will be a good preparation for the AFC qualifier.”
Ferreira also mentioned that Al-Sadd are suffering from the absence of many players, saying: “We are suffering from the absence of players, especially those from the Olympic team, in addition to the injured ones. But this does not stop us from giving our best to get the win.”
As for the transfers in the upcoming period, Ferreira said that transfer talk will be dealt with by the club media officer.
