Al-Sadd football team head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has stressed upon the difficulty of the upcoming QSL Round 15 match against Umm Salal, which will kick off at 4:15 PM at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “it will be a difficult match against one of the strongest teams in the league. We have studied them during the last few matches and we will work hard to get the win and the three points.”
Ferreira added: “We are suffering with the absence of the Qatar Olympic team players and also with the injuries of Xavi and Lee Jung So, in addition the lack of fitness of Mohammed Kasola. (But) this is an opportunity for the younger players to make their presence felt.”
When asked about Al-Sadd competing for the league title, the Portuguese went on to say: “When I started working in Qatar, my aim was to win the league and all other titles. That is how my career and personality is. It is the winning mentality that I seek to inculcate in the players. But the league will be tough for all teams and when I arrived itself, there was a gap between us and the leaders. However, the impossible happens in football.”
Ferreira also said: “We will battle on all fronts, at home and in Asia. The upcoming match against Al-Jazira will be like the World Cup final for us, especially as it is a one-off tie away from home ”
The Al-Sadd coach concluded by saying: “I am proud of the Wolves players who represent the national teams. It is a great thing for the club and the coaching staff understands this situation. We will work to compensate for these absences.”
