Ferreira: The Al-Khor match is special as it is at Khalifa Stadium
Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira described his team’s upcoming game against Al-Khor as “special” as it will be played at the Khalifa Stadium.
The QNB Stars League Round 10 fixture will kick off at 6:10 PM on Friday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Ferreira said: “This match is special as it will be played at the Khalifa Stadium, where we have excellent memories.”
“We must maintain the balance in the team by bringing in suitable replacements for Baghdad Bounedjah who suffered a leg injury in the last game against Al-Duhail.”
The coach also refuted suggestions that the matter of replacing Bounedjah will cause a lot of problems for Al-Sadd.
“This is the same injury that happened to him at the start of the season. We will see how much time he requires to recover. Al-Haydos, Khoukhi and Hamroun have already played in this position before; I might choose another player to lead the attack in place of him. There might be a young player involved or I might not play with a striker at all.”
Asked about the effect of the defeat to Al-Duhail, Ferreira said: “We committed a lot of errors against Al-Duhail. There wasn’t a big difference between us and them in terms of possession. I don’t think that the defeat had an effect on the players as the difference in performance was not huge. We are working on winning the next match.”
