Ferreira: Ready for Al-Ahli; we know it will be difficult

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has spoken of the difficulty of the upcoming Qatar Stars League Round 2 game against Al-Ahli. The match is set to kick off at 8 PM at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Our preparation has gone normally, as it has been for all the matches. The players who played the whole match (against Al-Kharaitiyat) had to undergo recovery training. We also studied Al-Ahli after watching their last game against Al-Gharafa.”

The coach also added: “Al-Ahli played well in their win over Al-Gharafa, especially in counter attacks. They are a difficult team. We focused on the Al-Ahli attack and how they used counter attacks after we observed it in the four goals that they scored.”

Speaking about new Algerian signing Jugurtha Hamroun, Ferreira said: “The match against Al-Kharaitiyat was his first match and since the atmosphere is new, he found it a little difficult. He needs time to acclimatize to Qatari football and get in sync with his teammates, especially as he does not speak Arabic. But we know that he is a great player and we expect a lot from him.”

Ferreira concluded by saying: “We know how difficult the match will be but Al-Sadd are fully ready for it.”
