Ferreira: It’s a decisive game and we will try our best to win the title
Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira stated that his team is raring to go ahead of the crucial upcoming fixture against Al-Ahli in the QNB Stars League.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Recently, we won 11 consecutive matches but unfortunately, we drew our last game against Al-Duhail after an intense effort from both sides. The result was fair. We now have two important games coming up, not just the game against Al-Ahli – I also want to win the last game of the league. We all want to win the title and I hope we will be crowned at our home stadium. We are very happy with the team’s performance and also the breaking of team and individual records during this season.”
He added: “In the game against Al-Duhail, we played in a different way because they forced us to do that. The opponent was very strong. We played better in the first half and they were better in the second. They exploited the mistakes of the team and forced us to play in a different manner.”
“It is six years now since we last won the title but there won’t be a seventh year. Al-Ahli defeated us in the first phase but I assure everyone that it won’t happen again. I have full confidence in the players and their ability to win and clinch the title officially.”
Ferreira finally concluded by sending a message to the club’s fans: “My message to the fans, on behalf of the players, officials and all the staff of the team, is to be behind us at the stadium tomorrow. It’s a life or death game, a decisive game that could give us the title. We will try hard to win, so that we can make all our fans happy.”
