Ferreira: It will be a tough match; absence of players won’t be a problem
Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of his side’s QSL Round 14 clash against Al-Kharaitiyat, describing the match as a difficult one to play.
Ahead of Wednesday’s game at the Al-Khor Stadium, Ferreira spoke at the pre-match press conference, saying: “The match is going to be really difficult. I have a lot of confidence in the players’ ability to always show their best. I have the same confidence in the substitute players too. Al-Kharaitiyat will look to make things difficult for us and they will be really motivated to face us.”
As for the absence of key players in this period, the boss said: “There won’t be any problems for Al-Sadd regarding the unavailable players. Their places will be taken up by capable players. There is no coach in the world who has any trick to avoid injuries or suspensions. All we can do is to work towards winning the match and getting the three points. This is not new for Al-Sadd and has been happening for many years. Last season, we went through the same scenario. These issues won’t affect our bid to attain top spot again.”
Ferreria also went on to add: “There were 5 days of rest for the players. Then we returned to training intensely in order to prepare for the upcoming period and the start of the second phase of the league, which is going to see a lot of competition. We need to prepare in the ideal manner for that.”
