​Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira said that the QSL Round 15 game against Umm Salal was a difficult and complicated one. He pointed out that Al-Sadd tried a lot to win the match with a lot of chances coming its way.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “It was a very difficult match and the strong winds also had a significiant role in the way the match turned out. Also on the physical side, Umm Salal with their tall players were able to win most of the balls in dead ball situations.”

The Portuguese added: “We were able to do our part today but we were not able to exploit the set piece situations against the tall players of Umm Salal. But we tried hard we had the desire to win. We played with a number of youngsters who had not played before and we will try to improve in the coming period when we have a full team.”

As for the race for the league title, rhe Al-Sadd coach said: “Al-Rayyan defeated Al-Kharaitiyat last night with a penalty and Al-Sadd is the only team that was able to get a win over Al-Rayyan – it was a deserved win. I do not look for excuses. We must work and get wins in all our remaining matches and we need to improve further in terms of our performances.”
