Ferreira: I’m confident in the players’ ability to return to good results

​Jesualdo Ferreira, the Portuguese head coach of Al-Sadd, spoke to the media on Wednesday and stressed upon the importance of the upcoming match against Al-Khor in Round 19 of the Qatar Stars League.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference before the match, Ferreira said: “When playing against Al-Sadd, all the teams play with a lot of spirit and in a better way than they play against other teams. This is natural as far as I am concerned. And so it is imperative that we work hard and try to finish off attacks in a good way by scoring goals and going out with a positive result.”

He went on to add: “The fans always want to win and also a good way of playing. This is the condition of big clubs like Al-Sadd. I am confident that results will come soon and we are working on the right way, be it the coaching staff or the management. There is logic in football but at times, luck also plays its part. Al-Sadd players know that we have 8 finals left that we have to win.”

Ferreira noted that the team lost to bottom ranked teams like Qatar SC and before that to Al-Jazira in the ACL, saying that such things occur; he pointed to Leicester City in England as proof of this. He also said that defender Pedro will miss the match against Al-Khor through suspension after receiving a fourth yellow card during the last match against Qatar.
