Ferreira: Happy with the big win; we made it easy

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira expressed his delight after his side defeated Umm Salal with a big 8-0 result in the QSL Round 11 match played here on Monday.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “We were the ones who made the match easy. Everyone knows that Al-Sadd’s attack is improving from one match to the next. Errors have largely disappeared in our attack. We managed to exploit most of the opportunities that came our way and we scored 8 goals.”

The coach added: “Umm Salal cannot be judged on this result, considering their other past matches. That is why, prior to the match, I talked of the difficulty of facing them. In many matches, Al-Sadd played really well but could only draw, having missed many chances. But as for today, I or anyone else did not expect this big result.”

As for the substitution of Bounedjah and him not shaking hands with the coaches, Ferreira said: “There is no need for the player to shake hands with the coach after leaving the pitch. I will speak with Bounedjah one-to-one and not in front of the media. He gave a good performance and scored two goals.”

Ferreira concluded by saying: “I am happy with the win and with the performance of the players. I hope they always keep giving their best so that we can reach the top.”
