​Al-Sadd head coach said that the 5-1 defeat of Mesaimeer in the QSL Round 14 match was fully deserved. He said that it was a fair result and that Al-Sadd could have scored more goals had they not become lax following the fifth goal.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: We managed to win the match with five goals and dominate the match playing with good teamwork and harmony.” He pointed out that he wanted to add more goals after the fifth and not concede.

The Portuguese added: “I am happy with Meshaal al-Shammari and Gaser Yahya who started the match from the beginning in light of the many absentees who are away with the Qatar Olympic team, in addition to the injured players.

The Al-Sadd coach added that he would give his players four days off as rest before preparing for the next game, which will be the Round 15 tie against Umm Salal on January 3rd.

As for the league campaign, Ferreira said: “We seek to work hard and be focused. Practice is completely different from an official match. I hope all the absent players return so that we can reach a better level of harmony. I now know most of them and they know me perfectly well too. There is balance and positivity in the work now and the level of the players has improved.”
