Ferreira: Fair result & a deserved win

​Al-Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media about how his team deserved to win 3-1 over Al-Arabi in the QSL Round 20 match played on Sunday night. He said that the result was fair and that Al-Sadd fully deserved the win.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said: “It was a difficult match for us. Al-Arabi are excellent side with their crosses into the box. Al-Sadd players gave their best, especially in the first half when we scored twice.”

The Portuguese coach went on to add: “We had managed to balance our attacking approach before Al-Arabi cut the deficit with their goal. (But) then we succeeded in scoring our third goal which finished off the match for us with some brilliant displays from a number of our players such as Xavi who aided the effort with great passing.”

Speaking of the brilliant performance of Xavi, Ferreira also said: “Xavi is a great person and as far as I am concerned, he is an excellent player who is capable of carrying responsibility. He deals with the ball in a great way and helps the team at all times, despite being marked heavily.”

The Al-Sadd coach signed off with a final comment: “Al-Arabi played a good match but Al-Sadd were better. Their coach Zola is a personal friend of mine and I respect him a lot; he is humble and a great personality.”
