Ferreira: Facing Al-Khor is difficult; we’re preparing as we usually do

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has stated that his team is preparing in the “usual” manner ahead of the upcoming QSL Round 9 game against Al-Khor, which is set to be played on Friday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “The training is going on as usual. I’m not going to talk of suspensions or injuries. As I said before, there are internal matters to do with exchanging domestic players during the January transfer window. The media talks of these things. I don’t know what is being written in the newspapers, especially as I don’t know Arabic. I don’t know what you’re writing about my work in Qatar. I have been dealing with the media for many years and I consider them my friends. And therefore, I have a lot of confidence in the media about what they write about me.”

The boss went on to add: “We will play seven matches in less than a month and so we need all the players. In one month, we play more matches than we have played since the beginning of the league. We now face Al-Khor who are a tough team with a strong defence. And so it is going to be a difficult game just as all the other matches, especially as all the teams play Al-Sadd with a little more spirit. We will work hard to get the win and add another three points to our campaign.”

Ferreira also said: “All the matches that we play, we at Al-Sadd seek to win only. I always talk of the team at press conferences, not of individuals. We are playing as one group.”

He went on to conclude by saying: “The Al-Arabi match is gone and our focus is now completely on Al-Khor. We could have clinched the Al-Arabi game at the beggining itself. I hope the players will be really focused in the match and will give their best to get the win.”
