Ferreira: Everybody knows the importance of the Clasico

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has invited his team’s fans to come in huge numbers for the upcoming QNB Stars League clash against Al-Rayyan.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Everyone knows that the Clasico is very important. I call upon all the fans of Al-Sadd to come in huge numbers and outnumber the Al-Rayyan fans.”

He added: “This game is important for us because of the competition for the top spot. I expect it to be an open game because both teams have the desire and capability to play an intense attacking game.”

“I hope there won’t be any injuries ahead of the game, especially as the players have been suffering from fatigue recently.”

The coach also stated that reaching the semifinals of the AFC Champions League is an excellent step for the team and that the players have developed into a cohesive unit. “Based on the work that we have done, we deserve to reach the semifinals,” added Ferreira.

As for the injury to Hassan Al-Haydos, Ferreira said: “Al-Haydos was injured from the beginning of the season. He is undoubtedly a key player but we try to maintain the balance of the team. As long as we do that, injuries won’t affect us. We will give our best with the players that we have.”
