Ferreira: Al-Ahli match will be tough; we aim to keep winning

Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media on Sunday, talking about the difficulty and also the importance of the upcoming Qatar Stars League match against Al-Ahli. The Round 15 match is set to be played on Monday at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Everyone knows that Al-Ahli began the season well before being affected by certain issues and also the change of the coach. But for us, this match is important and difficult. We seek to clinch the three points. The players will play in all seriousness to achieve that and keep going on the winning run.”

As for the last match against Al-Kharaitiyat and the brilliant goal scored by Ibrahim Majid, Ferreira said: “Ibrahim Majid’s goal was excellent and impressed a lot of people on YouTube. Ibrahim practises these kinds of shot very well. For me, this is the best goal of the season and it is also an important goal for us because it gave us the three points.”

The boss went on to add: “Al-Sadd suffered from the absence of key players against Al-Kharaitiyat but we got the win. I don’t know why the referee gave us 5 yellow cards. I congratulate the players for their performance. Now, the Al-Ahli match is the most important thing. I just wanted to protect the Al-Sadd players.”
