Disciplinary committee awards Al-Sadd a 3-0 win over Al-Markhiya
The disciplinary committee at the Qatar Football Association (QFA) has decided to overturn Al-Sadd’s loss to Al-Markhiya in Round 1 of the QNB Stars League and award Al-Sadd a 3-0 win instead, after a meeting held on Thursday.
Al-Sadd had earlier submitted a complaint regarding the ineligibility of Al-Markhiya player Saleh Al-Yahri, who had appeared in the 2-1 win over Al-Sadd despite being sent off in the last game of last season.
The disciplinary committee decided to award Al-Sadd the win as per Articles 5/15, 115 and 1/55, while also fining Al-Markhiya QR 10,000.
This result now means that Al-Sadd move to the top of the league standings with 3 points and 3 goals scored. Al-Sadd are now set to face Al-Sailiya in the Round 2 match which will be held on Friday at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.
