Celebratory mood at Al-Sadd after cup triumph
Saturday evening saw a celebratory atmosphere overwhelm the Al-Sadd club premises after the football first team won the Emir Cup title for the 16th time in the club’s history.
The club management held a celebratory event and welcomed many dignatiries and guests who came to convey their congratulations. The celebrations started after the Maghrib prayer and went on for a few hours. Club founding father H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah was in attendance, alongside other members of the Board of Directors of the club and the management, including vice president Nasser Mubarak Al-Ali, general manager Turki Al-Ali, head of football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali and many of the first team players who helped to realize this achievement.
Also in attendance at the event were Al-Rayyan president Sheikh Saoud bin Khalid, Al-Rayyan vice president Abdullah Ezzeldeen Al-Mutawa, Qatar SC president Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Nasser, Al-Arabi president Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Jabor, Al-Ahli president Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad and Al-Khor president Hassan Jumuah Al-Muhannadi, in addition to a number of other members of the Qatari football fraternity.
The event came at the end of an intense and difficult season which saw Al-Sadd compete hard for the league title before finishing runners up. The Wolves then lifted their game and won the Qatar Cup before going on to repeat their success in the Emir Cup, thereby winning the 67th title in the club’s history.
