Bounedjah returns while Al-Dosari misses out on matchday squad
The Al-Sadd matchday squad for the upcoming clash against Al-Rayyan in the 2017 Qatar Cup semifinal, was announced on Wednesday evening. Goalkeeper Saad Al-Dosari missed out on the squad after he was sent off in the Wolves’ last game in the league against El-Jaish.
Return of Baghdad Bounedjah
The squad announcement saw the return of Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah who had missed the last game due to suspension after he had picked up four yellow cards.
A semifinal Clasico in the Qatar Cup
The Wolves are all set to face Al-Rayyan in a Clasico matchup in the 2017 Qatar Cup semifinal, which will kick off at 7 PM on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Light technical training
The coaching staff focused on physical training during the final training session and also implemented light technical drills.
Special shootout practice
The players also practiced penalties as the semifinal match may head to a shootout in the case of a draw in normal time.
18-man matchday squad
At the end of the session, head coach Jesualdo Ferreira announced the 18-man matchday squad for the game. The squad consists of Muhannad Naim, Mohammed Ezzeldin, Abdelkarim Hasssan, Morteza Pouraliganji, Hussam Kamal, Hamed Ismail, Jasir Yahya, Xavi, Hamza Al-Sanhaji, Ali Asad, Jugurtha Hamroun, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hassan Al-Haydos, Hassan Ahmed, Ahmed Bader Sayyar, Mohamed Kasola, Ibrahim Majid and Pedro.
Closed camp at the Westin
The team then left for a closed camp at the Westin Doha Hotel, where they will stay until the time of departure for the match.
