Bounedjah: Ready to return, I want to thank the fans for their support
Al-Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah spoke of his happiness after returning to group training following his recovery from injury. The Algerian is currenty readying himself to play in Al-Sadd’s upcoming QNB Stars League game against Qatar SC.
Speaking to the club website, Bounedjah said: “My rehabilitation programme is over and I can now help the team in the upcoming period after I was out of action recently with the injury.”
“I am happy to return to the team again and to participate in training and in matches alongside my teammates. I want to reassure everyone of my capability to play and hopefully I can play in the upcoming match,” said Bounedjah. “I trained well in group training which came after a period of rehabilitation and physiotherapy under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.”
The striker also expressed his gratitude to the club’s fans for their support. “I want to thank the Al-Sadd fans who were following my condition during the period that I was injured. I hope they continue to support the team in the upcoming period so that we get more victories and remain on top of the league.”
He added: “Al-Sadd cannot be stopped because a player is absent. The team was able to get 9 points from the first three matches, as it has a group of great players, both foreigners and native.”
Bounedjah went on to conclude by saying: “Praise be to God for his good fortune that has enabled us to win our first three matches. We hope to continue winning and avoid dropping any points in the upcoming games as the competition is very intense from the other teams this season.”
