Belhadj tells fans: “Come in large numbers”

​Al-Sadd midfielder and Algerian star Nadir Belhadj invited Al-Sadd fans to come and support the team in the upcoming derby match against Al-Arabi which will take place at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium of Lekhwiya Club on Saturday.
Speaking at a special statement to the club website, he said: “I call on all the fans of Al-Sadd to come in large numbers during the derby, to support us to win and collect the three points.” Belhadj conveyed the message in French: “Venez nombreux!”

Belhadj said that the derby has always been exciting. “I have been playing with Al-Sadd for some many years now and I have played some exciting matches against Al-Arabi. I will not forget the goal I scored with the right foot against them,” he said, adding that he hopes he can help his team in the derby by scoring again.
As for the draw against Al-Khor in the last match, Belhadj said: “We have closed the Al-Khor file. Despite the fact that we played well and managed to threaten the goalkeeper on many occasions, bad luck prevented us from scoring.” He noted that this happens in football and that Al-Sadd has to work hard to compensate for the lost points during the match against Al-Arabi.
El-Jaish won their match yesterday and is at second place now. Belhadj said: “We do not look at the results of the other teams; we always focus on ourselves only. We know we lost four points so far since the beginning of the league and we have the ability to make amends. The lead is our aim and this is what we are striving for. With determination, persistence and hard work we will achieve it.”
Belhadj concluded his talk saying: “I wish my team all the luck and I hope there will be a lot of fans to support the team, especially as the Qatar Stars League this season is very tough and needs the unity of the players to get titles.”
