Hussain Amouta spoke to the media after the draw against Al-Khor in the Qatar Stars League Round 6 match and was expressed his frustration with the result.
Speaking at the press conference following the match at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Amouta said: “Al-Sadd did everything possible in football but was not able to score goals. We deserve to come out as winners and get the three points especially after the number of chances that the players got but were unlucky not to convert.
The Moroccan added: “Al-Sadd missed the final touch and there was more anxiousness than necessary despite persistent attempts to keep the players away from any tension, nervousness or pressure before the match. It was met by the combined defensive effort from Al-Khor. Although it did not prevent us from reaching the goal and being dangerous, the goalkeeper stood as an obstacle.”
Amouta also said that the loss of two points does not worry the team as the campaign is still long and the the upcoming matches will be better. He said: “We will work to lift the morale of the players during the next phase in order to win the coming matches.”
The coach also noted that the Al-Sadd players did their best during the game. He said: “I can not blame them for they did everything, their transition from attack to defense was fast. When the team creates more than eight or nine attacking opportunities, it confirms that we were the better side.”
