Al-Sadd football first team coach Hussein Amouta spoke of his great disappointment after the 2-2 draw with Al-Arabi in Round 7 of the Qatar Stars League.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Amouta said: “I expected a tough match and we performed well since the start of the match; we controlled the proceedings. After the first goal, we could have finished it off early and also after the red card to Khoukhi. But it was Al-Arabi who managed to score and we missed a lot of chances.”
The Moroccan coach added: “We played with a good level, we created chances but we did not score. We wasted two valuable points in the title race and the draw is like a loss for us as we are playing for the title.”
As for the pressure on the coach and the team as a whole, Amouta said: “We always play under pressure and this is natural for teams that play for the title. All the teams work hard to get to the top and the pressure is always there on the coach and the team. We will work in the coming matches to give our best to compensate for the points we lost.”
