Hussein Amouta, head coach of the Al-Sadd football team, stated that the upcoming derby match against Al-Arabi will be difficult and exciting, as they will be facing a team that has performed well this season. He also said that he hoped for a good and entertaining match especially as it represents Qatari football.
The Al-Sadd team is currently preparing for the match which will kick off at 7:45 PM at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium of Lekhwiya Club on Saturday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Amouta said: “We have a huge challenge in front of us; we need to give our best to get the win and make amends for the draw in the previous match against Al-Khor, which cost us 2 points in the title race. We will not put pressure on the players as they are accustomed to being focussed in such high caliber matches.
The Moroccan coach said: “The derby between Al-Sadd and Al-Arabi is like a cup match, especially as we have a big incentive to win in order to move closer to the top and compensate for the points we lost.” He pointed out that the current problem in the team is wasting chances despite having control over the match. “We will work during the match against Al-Arabi to give our best in order to not repeat the mistakes of the past,” he said.
As for the participation of Muhannad Naim in the match, Amouta said: “We have huge trust in Muhannad, who is the main goalkeeper at Al-Sadd right now in the absece of first-choice keeper Saad al-Dosari. He is working excellently in the matches he has played till now and moreover, the team always works as a team and does not depend on a single player.”
