Al-Sadd footbal first team manager Hussein Amouta has talked about the difficulty of the upcoming QSL Round 6 match against Al-Khor, a team which has put up good performances but unfortunately have not won many points.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Amouta said: “The match will be really tough against Al-Khor and we know that because we are trying to keep our winning run going while Al-Khor is trying to overcome its current situtation. And so we need to give the best of what we have during the match.”
The Moroccan went on to add: “We need to give our best and be completely focussed in order to get the three points. Last season, we lost a lot of points in matches that some consider easy. All the matches are important and difficult for us; we need to be greatly aggressive in defence and in the best condition in attack.”
The manager also said that despite not getting a win so far, Al-Khor are a strong team that has the ability to put up great performance. He said that Al-Sadd should not underestimate the opponent so as to not lose points, while also pointing out the need to play in a balanced manner.
Amouta added that the team needed to make use of chances. “We have to exploit the opportunities that come our way so that we can secure the result. We should not forget that in the last match, there were a lot of chances that we did not make use of. We need to make sure that we use chances in a better way in every match so that we can seal the results in our favour at the right time.”
As for the absence of Muriqui, Amouta said: “It will not present any crisis for the team. We played for most parts of last season without Muriqui and Al-Haydos was the striker. These things need to be faced and we take the responsibility for doing that. Thanks to God that the players have the ability to do just that and perform as we expect them to.” Amouta also confirmed the availability of Kasola for the match.
