Al-Sadd coach Hussein Amouta has expressed his confidence and great level of optimism in the readiness of the team ahead of the start of the new edition of the QSL.
Amouta said in an exclusive statement to the club website following the recent friendly against Al-Kharaitiyat: We had several tough battles during the preparation period, three of them came during the foreign camp in front of Al-Nassr, Al Ain and Al-Wahda – we were able to benefit a lot from them, especially as we have acheived a high level of fitness.
He added: “After returning to Doha, we played against Al-Markhiya, Mesaimeer, Palestine U19 and we have succeeded in achieving full readiness and raising the technical levels for all players; finally we played Al-Kharaitiyat, when we played a 4-quarter game in order to give a chance to young players who will be a great asset to the team over the next phase.”
And about the absence of international players, the Moroccan coach said: “Our international players are having some tough matches in the Asian qualifiers and are performing well; we await their return before the start of matches in the QSL.” Amouta stressed that star midfielder Khalfan Ibrahim has recovered completely from his recent surgery; he added that he was participating with the team in the collective training and that his technical and physical level is increasing by day.
Amouta concluded saying: “Al-Sadd is ready for the start of QSL; the players have arrived at a great stage of preparedness, and we are confident in their ability to present their best.”
