Al-Sadd football first team coach Hussein Amouta has expressed his delight after his team registered a 4-0 victory over Mesaimeer in their opening match of the Qatar Stars League on Sunday.
During the post-match press conference, Amouta said that it was a great start to the league, especially as the strike force excelled. The Moroccan also pointed out that Al-Sadd could have scored more goals in the first half and killed off the match.
As for the hattrick scored by Muriqui, Amouta said: “Everyone is happy for him and he is a great addition to the team; we expect more goals from him in the coming matches.” The coach also spoke highly of Khalfan Ibrahim who did well in his 15 minute stint to create the fourth goal after spending the past few months out with an injury.
Amouta stated that he substituted Hassan al-Haydos, Ali Asad and Abdulkarim Hassan because he wanted to give them some rest to avoid fatigue as they had only just returned from national team duty. As for Mesaimeer, he said that they played well and will have a point to make in the QSL. “They were better in the pre-season friendly match against us,” he added.
The coach concluded his talk saying: “I am happy with the win and the great start; I hope we always remain in our best levels to get successive victories in the difficult challenges that we expect to face.”
