Amouta: A deserved win, missed chances are biggest problem

Al-Sadd football first team coach Hussein Amouta has opined that the 4-2 win over Al-Kharaitiyat in Round 9 of the QSL was very important and considered it one of the biggest obstacle for every team.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Amouta said: “We were more dominant from the beginning as we feared the scenario of earlier matches would repeat, where we lost points because of small errors and negligence from the players. We lost in this way a lot of simple chances which could turn the game in our favour. It is a problem that has occurred repeatedly and we need to fix it soon.”
He added: “The good thing is that we came back after Al-Kharaitiyat took the lead and we were able to equalize before halftime. Anyway, this win is a deserved one with our team being better organized but the aforementioned problem of wasting chances remains.”
The Moroccan said: “Generally, we put up a good show except for a few lapses in defence which happened because we were too lax. This win is important to us in order to continue in the race and the players must remain cautious.”
Amouta also talked of the good performance of the youngsters, especially Hassan al-Haydos and Abdulkarim Hassan, saying: “It is our club policy to enrich the national team. We always work to support the national teams and this this is the direction we agreed on with the managemen. There are currently 6 players each in the senior team and the Olympic team.”
The Al-Sadd coach concluded his talk saying: “We are dealing with each game at a time, step by step. After passing such a difficult obstacle like Al-Kharaitiyat, we have to think about what is coming, because it is tougher.”
