Al-Sadd star Xavi visits refugee camp in Jordan

Al-Sadd star Xavi Hernandez visited the Al-Baqa’a refugee camp in Jordan on Thursday as part of the Generation Amazing programme, of which he is an ambassador. The programme is conducted by the Qatari organizing committee of the 2022 World Cup (SC).

Xavi met with young refugees in the camp which was founded in 1968 and is situated to the north of Amman. It has since become a city of its own, called as Al-Baqa’a.

The visit also saw Xavi participate in a kickabout with the kids, saying: “I am here because I love to help people. I learnt from life that when there is the opportunity to do so, you have to take it.”
